Long bio

Chris Sherrill is a Nashville, Tennessee, author of the psychological thriller novel Even Steven (2025) and the nonfiction manifesto The Declaration of Imagination (2026). A Birmingham, Alabama, native and longtime Nashville resident, he previously worked as a restaurateur, sales executive, and product design consultant. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University (BS ’01) and a Master of Engineering from Northwestern University, and studied storytelling at UCLA and Watkins film schools. He has also written numerous screenplays.

Even Steven, published by Even Steven, LLC, follows Nashville detective Sara Durant as she confronts a revenge serial killer on the city’s streets—a debut thriller shaped by Sherrill’s early love of plot-twisting suspense. The Declaration of Imagination argues that imagination is the original operating system of the human mind, drawing on neuroscience, history, and philosophy; a 14-episode companion podcast of the same name is available on Apple Podcasts. He is on X as @JChrisSherrill and on Instagram as @evenstevenbook.
